Julie Howe & CJ Grisham

Julie Howe is passionate about political activism, debate and writing. The events of September 11th sparked an interest in current events and gave her a strong appreciation for members of the military.

Since then, she has been heavily involved in grassroots political work, including Pro-Life initiatives, campaigns and voter registration. Julie is a nationally ranked competitive debater and speaker and spent a year as a columnist for a local conservative news magazine.

She has always been very motivated and once she’s started a project, she doesn’t like to stop working until it’s complete. Maybe she’s a workaholic… or maybe that’s the way visions become reality. In her “spare” time, she enjoys running, dancing, and playing the piano and cello.

CJ Grisham joined the Army in January 1995, the son of a dedicated Sailor.  In the past 12 years, he has worked his way from Private to E8 First Sergeant.  He's a very dedicated Soldier who devotes a lot of effort taking care of soldiers.  He deployed to Kuwait in Sep 2002 and was with the 3/7 Cavalry,  3rd Infantry Division, for the incursion into Iraq.  He fought his way to Baghdad and was with the unit that took Baghdad.  He was later sent to Fallujah in June 2003.  MSG Grisham was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor device during the conflict.  His other awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (second award), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (fifth award), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Combat Action Badge.  He is married and has three wonderful children.  He maintains a military blog at www.soldiersperspective.us.

We apologize to CJ for the cell phone connection and hard radio station break at the end of this segment.
